Two power houses, Marriott International and Alibaba Group, are coming together to redefine the travel experience for Chinese consumers. Experts in their respective industries could make for quite something. The joint venture will aim to deliver a personalized, VIP service and the all-important ‘wallet-free travel’ to Chinese consumers, whilst also taking their award-wining loyalty platform to the next level. With over 700 million trips expected to be taken in the next five years, consumers are demanding more. They want elevated travel experiences. There will be access to exclusive concerts and sporting events, right through to managing dining, shopping and sightseeing activities. The joint venture will see them push technology to deliver a seamless and easy travel experience, which will not be an easy feat. With hospitality expertise that far outweigh most in the market, combined with cutting edge tech and access to a large consumer base, it’s a match made in heaven for the two companies.
